New students tend to experience the stress and anxiety of transitioning from the school environment to the campus environment. Anxiety in dealing with new situations or roles can lead to the Impostor Phenomenon (IP). This study aimed to determine the effect of family relationships, general anxiety, and the Big-five personality traits on impostor phenomena. The sample of this study was 439 first and second-year students taken by the non-probability sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this research are Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS), Brief Family Relationships Scale (BFRS), Four-Dimensional Anxiety Scale (FDAS), and Big-five Inventory (BFI). Data analysis in this study used Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and multiple regression analysis techniques. The results showed a significant effect of family relationships, general anxiety, and the Big-five personality traits on the impostor phenomenon. Based on testing the minor hypothesis, there are six significant variables: emotional, physiological, cognitive, behaviour, extraversion, and awareness. Other variables such as cohesion, expressiveness, conflict, agreeableness, neuroticism, and openness have no significant effect on the impostor phenomenon.

Family resilience is an important ability for family in facing various challenges throughout the lifespan. The study about family resilience of Minangkabau ethnic people needs further exploration due to the increase in divorce rate in the last three years, indicating that these families were not resilient. The cause of the divorce was related to matrilocal residency (husband lives in wife’s house after marriage). This residency has the potential to cause the intervention of the wife’s family to the relationship of husband and wife, therefore leading to the lack of authority in the husbands role. This condition poses a risk to husbands to experience gender role discrepancy and discrepancy stress. The purpose of this study was to examine the contribution of gender role discrepancy and discrepancy stress to family resilience by involving 139 Minangkabau men who lived in the wife’s family house around the age 18-50 years old. This study used a quantitative research method. Sampling technique used in this study was a purposive sampling technique. All data collected were analyzed by using multiple regression method. Results showed that gender role discrepancy and discrepancy stress contributed significantly to family resilience by 10.5%. However, partial analysis showed that discrepancy stress alone did not contribute significantly to family resilience.

Academic adjustment is an important thing for students, especially seventh graders at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, one of the modern-based Islamic boarding schools that combines the national education curriculum and the cottage curriculum. In early adolescence, students have begun to develop cognitive strategies and adjust behavior to the academic environment. The ability of students to regulate cognitive and behavior in learning is called self-regulated learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-regulated learning and the academic adjustment amongst seventh grade students of Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. The research method used in this research was mixed methods. Quantitative data was collected from 160 students through The Motivated Strategies of Learning Questionnaire Scale (MSLQ) to measure self-regulated learning and Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) to measure academic adjustment. While in the qualitative approach, group interviews students were conducted into three group based on the level of the self-regulated learning group and academic adjustment. The result reveals that there was a significant positive relationship between self-regulated learning and the academic adjustment of seventh grade students at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School (r = 0,561; p < 0,001) indicating that students who had high self-regulated learning also had high academic adjustment at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. The group discussion found interesting results where students who have good motivation, cognitive strategies and learning behavior strategies, then adjust themselves to academic demands at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School is also good.

This research was conducted to determine the influence of social support (emotional support, instrumental support, informational support, and companionship support), social comparison (opinion and ability) and age among young mothers who use social media. A sample of 200 young mothers aged 18-37 years was taken with non-probability sampling techniques. This research used Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) & Positive Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) to measure the subjective well-being variable. The instrument for social support was arranged based on theory of Sarafino (2011). Futhermore the instrument for social comparison was modified from the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Scale (INCOM). The results showed there was a significant influence of social support, social comparison, and age towards subjective well-being of young mothers. The minor hypothesis test of four dimensions of social support showed only one dimension that influenced subjective well-being, which was emotional support. On social comparison, one of the two dimensions that significantly influenced subjective well-being was ability, whereas the other dimension which was opinion did not give significant influence toward subjective well-being.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of conformity on adolescent impulsive buying behavior on fashion products in the marketplace moderated by self-control. The research method used in this research is quantitative. The data collection used in this research is by sharing the questionnaire in the form of Google Form starts from July to September. The researchers use non-probability sampling method with voluntary response sampling. Respondents in this study are 150 teenagers. The data analysis technique used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis carried out, it is found that there is a significant relationship between conformity to adolescent impulsive buying behavior. Furthermore, the self-control variable as a moderating variable also has a significant effect on the independent and dependent variables in this study. The results of the study found that the conformity variable (X) simultaneously affected the impulsive buying variable (Y) by 73.1%, while 26.9% is influenced by other variables outside the regression equation or variables that are not examined. Other than that, the self-control as the moderation variable can moderate the effect between conformity and impulse buying in adolescents. For further research, there needs other variables that can be conducted to know what affects impulse buying with conducting to other types of society other than an adolescent.

Selfie, a commonly observed behaviour, is symbol of virtual identity. Similarly, narcissism as described by grandiose view of oneself, seeking approval and admiration on social media is also frequent. The purpose of this study is exploring selfie taking behaviour and narcissism among young adults. A total 132 subjects were considered for study through an online questionnaire which included demographic variables, selfie taking behaviour and NPI-16 (Narcissistic Personality Inventory -16). The results showed majority of the subjects N = 76 (57.5%) had high narcissism (NPI = 7). Age group 15 to 25 years (p= 0.0200), males, subjects who stayed in city, post graduates or graduate qualification, and married subjects had high narcissism. Using smart phone use more than 5 years (p=0.00942), taking 5 to 10 selfies per day with (p=0.00331), posting selfie for personal memory (p=0.03268), selfie on WhatsApp messenger (p=0.03268) and taking selfie with person alone and selfie taken on specific occasions (p=0.01122), had high narcissism. The conclusion of this study is selfie and narcissism are closely linked among young adults and a matter of psychological wellbeing during personality development.

The elderly population continues to increase not only in the world, but also in Indonesia. One of the cities that contribute to increasing the number of elderly people in Indonesia is Depok, West Java. Elderly is a stage that has experienced many changes and faced various challenges in life. The elderly tend to experience a decline in various aspects. They experience changes in physical, psychological, and social aspects. The changes that occur and all the challenges that must be faced can have an impact on the physical, mental and functioning of life. This study aims to examine whether mindfulness and religious coping have an effect on the mental health of the elderly in Depok city. The sample used were 282 elderly people who were taken using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The instruments used in this study are adaptations and modifications of the Mental Health Continuum-Long Form (MHC-LF), Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) and Brief RCOPE instruments. The results showed that at 36.5%, there was a significant effect of mindfulness and religious coping together on the mental health of the elderly. In detail, the results of the minor hypothesis prove that there is a significant effect of three dimensions of mindfulness (observe, describe, and act with awareness) and one dimension of religious coping (positive religious coping) on the mental health of the elderly.

Bahay Pagbabago ni Apong Pilar is a community-based, church-initiated, and DDB (Dangerous Drugs Board) recognized and accredited formation shelter in San Simon, Pampanga. Using the sequential explanatory design, this study conducted surveys and focused-group discussions with 32 reformists to assess the shelters formation program based on the reformists standpoints. Quantitative results using Spearmans rank correlations showed that there seemed to be a significant relationship between attitude towards livelihood (? (2) = 6.589, sig. = 0.037*, p < 0.05) and spiritual activities (? (27) = 0.587**, p < 0.01), as formative components of the program, and perceived self-improvement (? (2) = 13.573, sig. = 0.001**, p < 0.01) during their stay in the formation shelter. It suggests that as the reformist develops a more positive attitude towards the livelihood, sports, and spiritual activities being offered at the formation center, it is also more likely that they may develop a higher sense of self-improvement. Qualitative data yielded three general themes: (1) finding a higher purpose and deeper meaning in life through spiritually uplifting undertakings; (2) having family-oriented treatment, making them feel nothing less of their humanity; and (3) having holistic and dynamic activities, those that focus on the developmental facets. These are the elements deemed by the reformists as important, which constitute effective reintegration to their families, communities, and society.
